It took me about three weeks to complete (a LOT of hours) and I am so happy to finally have it finished. This poor blanket was definitely my experimental one, but it turned out pretty well for what I put it through. I'll just tell you this included a lot of patience (which I decided I have very little for this sort of thing), unpicking, midweek runs to the fabric store (the closest one is 20 min away), and encouragement from Jake. If it weren't for him, this blanket would have been torn up and tossed about 5 different times.
I'm not completely happy with how the colors turned out. It was hard to picture what the colors would look like after it frilled, and I wish I had either put the pink in the front or middle. Anyway I learned a lot this time around and can't wait to make more!

Ahhhhhh, so comfy.
Ahhhhhh, so comfy.
ps. As many of you know, I am making a large quilt as well. I have finished sewing all of the squares together, and just have to find someone to quilt it for me. That costs money though, so we are going to wait on that (it is also experimental and has a lot of issues.. This is why we are not in a hurry to get it done!)
way to be crafty mel! I love it! I am the worst at anything that includes sewing! you rock!
ReplyDeleteGood job, Mel! You should post a tutorial of how to make that blanket. It looks so cute! I want to try!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Matt's oldest brother's name is Jake! Haha. However, he doesn't own a business out there. Is your mother-in-law related to Josiah Bartlett? Who signed the Declaration of Independence? That's Matt's great great great grandpa.
p.s. in response to your last comment on my blog...totally not creeped out. Lol. I actually love your comments! They make me feel not so awkward. Hopefully your not creeped out by my stalker-comments either =)
