Mr. Intensity

Lately Jake and I have had very deep and meaningful conversations about our "alter egos." In case you are wondering what I mean about "alter ego," here is how Wikipedia defines it:
An alter ego (Latin, "the other I") is a second self, a second personality within a person, who is often oblivious to the persona's actions. (Jeckyll and Hyde are examples.)

So we tease about Jake's alter ego being this intense person who will switch between one extreme to another. If you know Jake, you know he is full of personality.  He is an extremely passionate person, which I absolutely love about him. This is how he has gotten so far in many aspects of life. This guy is awesome. We have to laugh when this intense side of him comes out in funny little things and it has become quite the inside joke around here. I nick-named the alter ego "Mr. Intensity." It sounded like an awesome superhero name, so I couldn't help but create a comic strip for Jake to frame and put on his desk at work. He was so excited and proud of it that he wanted me to share:

MR. INTENSITY

Hopefully you can make the picture bigger and read the captions.
I may have to turn this into a series.

  3. Hahahaa!! Oh my gosh! I about died reading this! My husband is the same way! I guess his alter ego would be what I call The Incredible Hulk. There have been times, and I kid you not...I've been sitting there doing my make up and Matt comes out of the closet fiddling with his shirt, muttering to himself like, "Gosh, what's wrong with this shirt...it's all staticy today...it's making me sweat...." And then I turn just in time to see him literally rip it in half right off his body. Hahahahaha!! We have to go shirt shopping a lot =)

Love your blog so much, Melanie!! Hope you and baby-in-the-oven are doing awesome!
